A hat-trick from Timmy Dunne helped Two Mile Borris qualify for the last 16 of the Munster Youth Cup with a well earned victory over a battling Bansha Celtic at Newhill Park, Littleton last Saturday.
With a visit to West Cork to face Dunmanway Town this coming Saturday the prize for the winners, it saw Two Mile Borris get off to the ideal start with Jamie Carey getting the breakthrough after just five minutes. With Two Mile Borris goalkeeper Liam Lanigan in inspired form producing a number of important saves to keep his side’s lead intact it saw the double their lead on 20 minutes. This time it saw Jamie Carey turn provider setting up Timmy Dunne for his first goal and Carey and Dunne combined on 40 minutes to give Two Mile Borris a 3-0 lead at the halfway stage.
Bansha Celtic looked like they might get something from this tie when pulling a goal back through Kenneth Collins three minutes after the restart but it was not the case. With ‘keeper Liam Lanigan and his defence regaining their composure Two Mile Morris put the issue beyond doubt when Jamie Carey and Timmy Dunne combined again on 75 minutes for the latter to complete his hat-trick.
