Cahir Park keep up challenge
CAHIR PARK 4
ST. MICHAEL’S FC 1
Cahir Park kept their hopes of lifting the long overdue Youth League title alive after a comfortable victory against St. Michael’s at Ardfinnan Road last Saturday.
Cahir Park whose only success in the Youth League championship was back in 1982 are determined to end that thirty-one year drought and on this display are taking a step in the right direction. Five minutes had just elapsed when Garry Cronin headed Cahir Park into the lead and Cronin added a second from a direct free-kick on 20 minutes to give Cahir Park a 2-0 lead at the break.
St. Michael’s who are normally amongst the front runners for honours are having a very inconsistent campaign were looking like they might make a recovery when Cathal Ryan hit a beauty from 18 yards into the top corner of the goal. But it was just a consolation as Cahir Park went on to add further goals from Liam Casey and David Finnane to run out comfortable 4-1 winners.
