Needing a draw for the vital title-twinning point, Tipperary Town were 2-1 down in the closing stages with Killusty holding the narrow advantage.

With three minutes left on the stopwatch of this nail-biting tussle, Killusty conceded a penalty for pushing. Mark Flannery slotted home from the spot to level it and secure the point required to give a delighted Tipperary Town side a historic first championship.
