One of haute couture’s most creative talents is lending his skills to the world of optical fashion, collaborating on a bold new collection of designer eyewear, Osiris.

Paris-based fashion designer Jørgen Simonsen, whose A-list clientele has included leading ladies like Madonna, Nicole Kidman and Dame Elizabeth Taylor, says he has created the 60-piece range for ‘people who like to dare’.

His trademark statement style is characterised in Osiris, which he describes as aspirational, vibrant and cosmopolitan.

“Glasses are such a big part of fashion these days, it’s a huge market with increasing focus on and demand for striking design. Osiris is bold, modern and empowering, a fusion of strong, contemporary shapes and materials with unusual detailing in a kaleidoscope of colours,” explains Jørgen.

“It has been styled for people who ooze confidence, appreciate good design and are not afraid to stand out. I have always challenged convention in my design and this collection is no exception; the collection is for people who dare to be different and are happy to
make a statement with their glasses.”

Camille Maguire, store director at Specsavers Clonmel says: “We are delighted to welcome the Osiris eyewear range to the store. Comprising of a 60 piece collection, these are glasses that are highly unique and fashion forward, mixing bold colours and
patterns with contemporary detailing and modern shapes. With so many styles available, there is a pair for everyone in this new range – which is available exclusively to Specsavers.”

This comes as no surprise from the Danish designer made famous by some of the most talked about red carpet outfits of all time. His plunging see-through jungle-print Versace gown boldly worn by Jennifer Lopez made for a show-stopping entrance at the Grammys, while a corset he created for Sex and the City star, Sarah Jessica Parker, for her first appearance as a new mum at the Golden Globes, revived the underwear as outerwear trend.

Having trained in the highest echelons of haute couture with some of the world’s leading fashion houses, including Chanel, Givenchy, Valentino and Versace, and worked alongside design icons Karl Lagerfeld, Alexander McQueen and John Galliano, Jørgen has carved out a
reputation as a bold and brave designer who knows how to make a radical
statement.
