Proud Carrick’s homage to Maurice Davin

Carrick-on-Suir has paid homage to Maurice Davin, co-founder of the GAA, president of the GAA and an exceptional athlete in his own right. A nine-foot tall statue of the man was unveiled earlier this month at the Davin Park, as part of the inaugural Maurice Davin Festival.

Coinciding with the Clancy Brothers Music and Arts Festival, it was strongly supported in the town, as sporting and cultural events complimented each other for the weekend celebration.
