The most exciting and best designed Suir Valley 3-Day route awaits thousands of tourists this August when they visit Clonmel for the annual cycling event, which was launched and endorsed by famous cycling legend, Sean Kelly, and special guests in the Town Hall this week.
With race finishes on O’Connell Street, the reintroduction of the criterium and sportives featuring for the first time, the 2013 event is set to be the best one yet. The race, which is now part of a trio of major Clonmel events, will take place on the first of two weekends in August which will see Clonmel transformed into party central as the Suir Valley 3-Day links up with the annual Busking Festival and the Heritage Festival.
Race organiser Declan Byrne said this year’s is the best designed route, attracting some top international riders to the race.
“The calibre of rider is excellent and this will be a much bigger event with the sportives due to finish in the town centre, I will be excited to see that many people in the centre of Clonmel,” he said.
