Bicentenary celebrations
for Presentation nuns
On Friday April 26, the pupils and staff of Presentation Primary School, Carrick-on-Suir gathered in St. Nicholas’ church to celebrate a very special mass to mark the bicentenary of the arrival of the Presentation Sisters in Carrick-on-Suir. Many were moved by the beautiful sound of 360 voices as every pupil from junior infants to sixth class sang the words of the specially chosen songs culminating in a beautiful tableau to accompany the song “One Step Beyond”, which was written especially about Nano Nagle, founder of the Presentation sisters. This mass marked the beginning of a series of events planned by the school to celebrate the bicentenary.
