Clonmel Fianna Fail Cllr Siobhan Ambrose is calling for more road safety measures to be introduced in Kilsheelan, on foot of a number of road safety concerns raised by residents.

According to Cllr Ambrose, traffic calming measures are needed at the junction beside the Ormonde Stores, in order to allow traffic to cross at this junction safely. And the footpath on the way into Kilsheelan needs to be highlighted more also, either by means of illuminous signage or railings, in order to prevent cars from mounting the footpath.

“I have raised these two issues with officials in the roads section of the County Council following concerns from residents living in Kilsheelan. The officials in the are currently investigating the possibility of carrying out works at these two areas which in turn will be dependent on acquiring the relevent funding from the Department,” she said. Cllr Ambrose said she hopes something can be done sooner rather than later in order to prevent future accidents from occurring at these two areas.
