As part of World Mental Health Week which takes place from October 6-12, Fishamble Theatre’s award-winning show, Silent, returns to Clonmel for one night only.
Starring the wonderful Pat Kinevane, Silent takes place in the White Memorial Theatre on October 10.
The event is a joint effort between Clonmel Junction Festival and South Tipperary Action Network (STAN). This is the fourth Clonmel performance for Silent, which sold out on each of the three pervious performances.
It was the highlight of the 2012 Junction Festival and was unanimously awarded the judge’s prize for Best Theatre Performance. The show then travelled to New York and LA where it received rave reviews.
Silent is a very special night at the theatre. It is a touching, and heart-warming play that is both uplifting and insightful. Writer/performer Pat Kinevane tackles a topic as poignant as homelessness and mental health in a meaningful way while still creating an evening of the most exceptional entertainment. He dares the audience to laugh at despair and gasp at redemption in this brave, bleak, beautiful production. ‘Silent’ is a must-see from one of Ireland’s top theatre companies.
STAN is a broad collective of voluntary and HSE reps who, through this sub-committee, organise a calendar of events during World Mental Health Week. The aim of Mental Health Week is to promote social and emotional wellbeing to the community, encouraging people to maximise their health potential, enhancing the coping
capacity of communities, families, individuals and increasing mental health recovery.
