The AGM of the local Cumann took place in St Paul’s Community Centre last Saturday. The outgoing officers were returned for another year: chairman Mick Norris, secretary Mattie Maher and treasurer John Flynn. The meeting discussed various local issues including the delayed extension to Shanrahan cemetery, concern was raised are no graves left for sale in Shanrahan. Cllr Siobhain Ambrose, Cllr Michael Anglim and PJ English were in attendance. The chairman wished all Fianna Fail candidates in the Cahir/Clonmel area the very best of luck in the forthcoming elections in May.

Music in Ballyporeen

The Arts Crimes Band will perform in the Ronald Reagan Centre Ballyporeen on Friday, February 14, doors open 8pm. Tickets €10 and are available at Ballyporeen post office, Russells Shop and the tickets hotline 087 3304779.

Drama in Ballyporeen

The Sand Bucket Theatre presents Drama Skills, this is a six week programme for primary school children. Started last Wednesday, February 5 at the Parochial Hall, Ballyporeen. Juniors; 2pm to 3pm, seniors to 2nd class; 3.15pm to 4.15pm, 3rd class to 6th class; 4.30pm to 5.30pm. €5 per class. For further information phone Mary or Leonard on 086 0780297.
