Cashel Active Retirement: monthly meeting will be held on Friday, January 31 in the Spafield Resource Centre at 2.30pm.

St Mary’s Choral

As part of their fundraising for the forthcoming season St Mary’s Choral Society will hold a Valentine’s table quiz on Thursday February 13, in Liam Dalys on O’Connell Street, Clonmel.

General knowledge plus perhaps a few romantic questions thrown in! All are welcome.

Table quiz

A table quiz organised by the Soroptimists will be held at Hillview Sports Club, Clonmel next Wednesday evening, February 19, at 8.30pm.

The cost per table is €20 and funds raised will be donated to the Knocklofty Day Care Centre and Bridgewater House.

The school will hold an open morning on Saturdaym, March 1 at 11am.

Junior infants enrolling for September 2014 and their parents, are invited to come and view the excellent facilities, and meet the staff.

Kilcash Ladies

Kilcash Ladies Club will celebrate its 40th anniversary of activities on Friday, February 28.

There will be mass in Kilcash Church at 7.30pm followed by a three-course meal in the Community Centre at 8.30pm for €25. All past and present members will be contacted and invited to attend by a Ladies Club area member. Names and money required by February 20. Huge congratulations to all the Clonmel, Ardfinnan, Carrick-on-Suir, and Fethard and Cahir Cubs who took part in the regional swimming gala held in the Sean Kelly Pool on Saturday February 1.

Congratulations to Ardfinnan the overall winners, second place Carrick-on-Suir, and in joint third place 22nd Cubs Clonmel, teams A & B. Congratulations to all the kids for taking part, we look forward to seeing you all again next year.

Anam Cara

Anam Cara is holding its monthly parent evening on Monday, February 24, 2014 from 7.30pm to 9pm at The Horse & Jockey Hotel, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

This event is free, open to all bereaved parents and each Anam Cara support group has a bereavement professional present to answer any questions parents may have and signpost them to other services that are available in the area.

Anam Cara support groups are situated throughout Ireland and provide parents a safe, comfortable environment where they have the opportunity to connect with other bereaved parents. Anam Cara is an inclusive organisation where parents do not identify themselves by their children’s age, how they died, or if their death was recent or many years ago. What Anam Cara provides is a safe place for bereaved parents to connect with others who understand the intensity of the grief and loss.

Daffodil Day

A meeting of the Clonmel Daffodil Group will be held in Hearns Hotel on Wednesday, February 19 at 11am. New volunteers are always welcome.

A coffee morning to launch their fund raising for 2014 will be held in the Greyhound Stadium Clonmel on Saturday, March 1, commencing at 10.30am (access to the stadium is through the Gas House Bridge car park.)

Fishing Club

The Annual General Meeting of Ardfinnan Fishing Club will take place on Thursday, February 13 at 8pm in the Community Hall, Ardfinnan.

Patrick’s Day

St Patrick’s Day Parade Tipperary Town will take place on Monday, March 17.

Donations sought for shop on Mary Street in Clonmel.

Good clothes, books, bric-a-brac, shoes, handbags, and more, all welcome. No electrical good can be accepted, thank you. If you would like to donate items but do not have transport, please contact the shop and they will arrange for the Enable Ireland van to collect the items from you. Contact 052 6126202. Social dancing

A social dancing event will be held in Moyglass Community Hall on the first Friday of every month.

Music and dancing is from 9pm to 12am. Admission E8. Teas served on the night. All are welcome.

Meet every Tesday fortnight in St Mary’s Pastoral Centre, Irishtown at 8pm.

Tipperary’s first Alzheimer Cafe is now open at the Community Resource Centre, Kickham Street, Clonmel, Co Tipperary.

The Alzheimer Café is a safe and relaxed place where people with dementia, their families and health and social care professionals come together for a unique blend of education and support.

It is a place where people can share experiences and talk about dementia. Anyone who is affected by dementia is welcome to come to an Alzheimer Cafe.

The Alzheimer Café facilitates support, information and education.

Suicide support

A support group for anyone over 18 bereaved by suicide meets in: Clonmel Community resource Centre, Kickham Street, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary.
