Phil Prendergast MEP has welcomed yesterday’s announcement regarding the National Disability Strategy Implementation Plan.
“I’m very pleased that Minister Lynch has published this plan for the future. A key part of having a national strategy is being able to implement it to the highest possible standards, and this plan will hopefully do just that.
“One of the strongest parts of the plan is that it allows government to work with local community and voluntary groups to improve the lives of people with disabilities all over the country.
“Four high level goals for independence, equality, participation and maximizing potential will be constantly assessed and monitored to keep the implementation plan on track, allowing people with disabilities in Ireland to have greater choice and more control over their lives.”
