TSPCA says thanks for flag day support

The Tipperary Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (TSPCA) has thanked members of the public who have shown support since their appeal for help two weeks ago, and for their generosity during their flag days held last weekend.

Donations over the two days yielded €3,647, up slightly on last year’s amount. “This was hugely generous of people and we are absolutely delighted with it,” said Mark Hickey who runs the Clonmel-based TSPCA. He expressed thanks to all those who volunteered over the two days also. And help has been forthcoming in other ways too, as a group of ladies are going to run the Tipperary Women’s Mini Marathon for the TSPCA on September 29, while staff mebers at South Tipperary General Hospital are organising a cake sale, and a pub quiz will alos be held in October in aid of the animal charity which is struggling financially at the moment.

“We are feeling a lot more positive now,” Mark told South Tipp Today.
