Body found in Fawnagown still unidentified

The body of a man discovered in an underground storage tank in the Fawnagown area between Tipperary Town and Bansha on Tuesday afternoon, was still not formally identified as South Tipp Today went to print (Wednesday May 1).

The body of a man discovered in an underground storage tank in the Fawnagown area between Tipperary Town and Bansha on Tuesday afternoon, was still not formally identified as South Tipp Today went to print (Wednesday May 1).

A post mortem examination was taking place at Waterford Regional Hospital and although the body is believed to be that of 52-year-old Bobby Ryan from Cashel, who has been missing since June 2011, a formal identification could not be made until the post mortem examination was complete.

Mr Ryan (52) has not been seen since the morning of June 3, 2011.

His Citroen van was found at Bansha Woods, on the day of his disappearance.

A truck driver, Mr Ryan also worked as a DJ and was well-known across Tipperary by his stagename ‘Mr Moonlight’.
