With the heatwave that Ireland has been experiencing this past week, local pet shop Maxi Zoo have some tips to ensure your pets are safe and cool.

Here is one of the most important summer rules: rabbits, guinea pigs and other similar animals need a shady environment and, above all, enough fresh water. Your pets will now need fresh greenery every day as well. Not only are fresh greens particularly tasty, they also will provide part of your pet’s additional fluid requirements. As you introduce them into their diet, keep in mind that your small animal needs to get used to fresh greens very slowly.
