Multi-award winning journalist and war correspondent, Robert Fisk, will vist Clonmel in February offering fans a unique chance to spend an evening in the company of the renowned and controversial reporter.
Middle East correspondent for The Independent, Fisk will give first hand accounts of events he witnessed in in Lebanon, Syria, Egypt and Iran, just some of the destinations he has covered in his long career. He will also delve into answering some difficult questions about war reporting such as: why do we unconsciously accept war reports on face value?; when does interrogation become torture?; and when does targeted killing become murder? Robert Fisk has amassed a devoted readership over the years with his outspoken articles on international politics and mankind’s war–torn recent history. He has survived bombs, bullets and beatings and two kidnap attempts while collecting a wealth of awards and writing several best selling books. He will come to Hotel Minella on Thursday, February 13.
