Castleview players compete in Munster championships

Castleview members travelled to Tipperary Town last week to compete in the Munster Senior Clay Court Championships.

Castleview members travelled to Tipperary Town last week to compete in the Munster Senior Clay Court Championships.

They thoroughly enjoyed the experience despite the terrible, damp weather conditions.

Congratulations to Katherine Morrissey, who reached the finals with her partner Dick McCarthy. They were runners-up in the Premier Mixed competition.

Dungarvan’s Causeway Tennis Club hosted its annual veterans competition last weekend. Many Castleview teams and individual members competed and some reached the final stages.

Winners and runners-up will be published in next week’s notes.

Castleview’s annual Senior Open Tournament commences on September 10. It is the only open tennis tournament to be held over a fortnight in the Sout East.

Castleview will welcome an influx of tennis players from all over the region to compete in and enjoy this social and fun event.

The American Tournament at the Club on Monday, August 13 was won by Brendan Gleeson and Mabel Tobin.

Runners-up were Marian Sheehan and Ross O’Sullivan. The American Tournament is now back in full swing and will provide the fun social element to Castleview over the coming months. Competition starts at 7.30pm and competitors’ names to be submitted to the Club between 6.30pm and 7pm.
