The Carrick girls played in a Munster wide 7s rugby blitz ending last Saturday in Fermoy. The girls took part in eight matches over three weekends playing Thurles, Fairhaven, Mallow, Abbeyfeale and Dingle. The winners were the team that accumulated the most points over all the matches. Carrick competed right until the last day where they were beaten by a very competitive Thurles side. Overall Carrick won seven of their eight matches, finishing second in their league and playing open rugby which was wonderful to watch.

Carrick rugby club hosted a very successful mini blitz in Tybroughney last Sunday, with teams of under 7s to under 12s taking part from Waterpark and Clanwilliam clubs as well as the host club. It was a great success and thank you to all who helped out in its organisation. There were many matches and Carrick had victories in every age group. It was a great day for rugby, with approximately 270 players involved, close to 100 of whom were from Carrick.
