The Limerick Marathon took place last Sunday in what were fairly good conditions. Clonmel Athletic Club’s Angela McCann, who only decided last Thursday to participate in the event, went off at a good pace, sharing the workload with Tracey Roche of Dooneen Athletic Club.

They both reached halfway in 90 minutes and shortly after that Angela picked up the pace and kept that tempo going to win this event in 2 hours, 58 minutes and 36 seconds.

This was a brilliant performance by Angela, coming just weeks after she was crowned All-Ireland Ladies over 40 10K Road Champion.
