Clonmel Boxing Club will host an inter-firms boxing fundraising night in aid of the club, with the support of Clonmel Lions Club, on Saturday, 17th November in the Clonmel Park Hotel.

Already 14 people have signed up for this challenge which will see participants, who have no previous boxing experience, train for six weeks under the expert tutelage of Clonmel Boxing Club coaches in all aspects of amateur boxing for the fundraising fight night.

The idea is that 20 volunteers - representing businesses, companies or organisations in the town - will sign up to the training schedule, culminating in the dinner boxing tournament.

The 20 newly-trained amatuer boxers will compete in ten bouts (one bout per pair), cheered on by their work colleagues and friends who have purchased a table for the night in support of their boxer. Tables of 10 cost €800 and will include a delicious meal and some special guests and entertainment still to be confirmed.

Any company, business or organisation interested in supporting this worthy cause may contact Joe Kennedy from the Lions Club on 087-2271291 or Martin Fennessy from Clonmel Boxing Club on 087-9243827.

Clonmel Boxing Club is currently full to capacity and cannot accept new members for the moment.
