Cashel Town 6 – 1 St Nicholas

Cashel Town 6 – 1 St Nicholas

Cashel Town got the year off to a great start with a great win over fellow Division Two strugglers St Nicholas, to avenge their defeat to the same opponents early in December.

J Corbett opened the scoring in the very first minute from the spot to set the tone of the game, but the lead didn’t last long as Darragh Burke equalised on ten minutes. That was the way the game remained till half time,.

After the break the floodgates opened as Thomas Wade scored two quick goals on 50 and 55 minutes. Thomas Caulfield then got in on the act with a penalty ten minutes later and another goal on 77 minutes. Wade then completed his hat trick with five minutes left slotting home a good finish after some slick passing , to give Cashel Town the perfect start to the New Year with hopefully more success to come.
