Moyglass United 8
Promotion bound Redmondstown finished out their season away to Moyglass, and it was the home side that were the hungrier for the points which they duly pocketed.
They probably didn’t expect the size of the victory, but in overall play, they hammered Redmondstown and fully deserved their win.
Moyglass put down a marker when they opened the scoring after only eight minutes through Keith Phelan, and then they doubled their advantage on the quarter hour with a strike from the penalty spot by Michael Lacy.
A brace from Denis Fahey then, sandwiching a second by Lacy gave the home team a five goal cushion at the break, and Fahey completed his hat trick only five minutes into the second period to make it six.
Two more from John Lacy and Michael Griffin extended the lead to eight late on, as Redmondstown headed off into the summer break, to plan for their foray into the First Division next season
