Tipperary qualified for the semi-final of the Munster Senior Hurling Championship when they beat Limerick by 4 points in the quarter-final at Semple Stadium on Sunday.

Limerick led the way for most of an exciting encounter and their half-time advantage of 1-9 to 1-8 was twice extended to 7 points in the second half.

Just when it seemed that the holders were in danger of surrendering their crown they clawed their way back into contention and took the lead for the first time when Brian O’Meara found the net with 6 minutes remaining.

Tipp finished strongly and late points from top scorer Pa Bourke’s free, Conor O’Brien, Seamus Callanan (0-2) and Shane Bourke saw them secure the victory.
