Noel Kelly Senior Hurling Tournament.
The first games in the tournament took place on Sunday last with both Carrick Swans and Rapparees both going through to the next round. With perfect weather conditions the large crowd in attendance were treated to some excellent hurling with some outstanding individual performances. If the opening games are anything to go by we are in for a feast of hurling over the next couple.
Next weeks fixtures are Saturday, March 9, Thurles Sarsfield v Ballygunner at 5pm, followed by Carrick Davins v Lismore at 7pm. Admission €5 or why not buy an all in ticket for €20 which gives you admission to all games in the tournament including the final.
Our weekly bingo continues in the community hall, Carrickbeg, on Fridays at 8.30pm.
U14 football - St Mollerans U14 footballers were in championship action against St Saviours on Saturday, March 2. Although beaten in the end by a very strong St Saviours team the Molleran’s can be very happy with the team’s performance. If we continue to train and put in the effort there is no reasons why we cant reach the knockout stages of the competition at least.
U11 Hurling - Our U11 hurlers played Killrossanty in Carriganore on Friday, March 1, and we were treated to a very well contested game. From the throw in both teams gave their all and this pattern continued to the final whistle. After the game the talk was of the great talent St Molleran’s has at this age level.
These youngsters have come through our academy proving that the hard work being done by our coaches is paying dividends. Hopefully this team will continue to progress and bring plenty of success to St Molleran’s in the future.
Last Man Standing
A big thanks to everyone who signed up for our last man standing competition.
At the moment we have a lot of people still standing but according to the men in the know this could change rapidly at the
weekend.
Our sincere sympathy is offer to Marmie Morrissey on the death of her mother Mrs Anna Nolan and St Molleran’s would also like to offer their sincere sympathy to the Brophy Family on the untimely death of Martin Brophy.
