In the Junior Ladies 3k race Ciara Cummins of Nenagh Olympic won in 13 mins 50 secs.

Orlaith Moynihan of Clonmel won Silver in 14 mins 20 secs with Aoife Deering of Nenagh Olympic taking Bronze in 14 mins 34 secs and Orla Healy of Moyne 4th. In the Junior Men’s 6k race Killian Cullagh of Nenagh Olympic won in 23 mins 18 secs, Anthony Tobin of Clonmel won silver in 23 mins 28 secs with his Club mate Aaron Egan winning Bronze in 23 mins 44 secs. Gary Howard of Nenagh Olympic was 4th with Jack Allen of Clonmel 5th. Clonmel won the team event with Anthony, Aaron and Jack.

In the Ladies 6K race, defending champion Dymphna Ryan of Dundrum set a strong pace that soon had the field in Indian file. Midway through the first lap she was joined by Madeline Loughnane of Thurles Crokes and these two match stride for stride up to 4k. Madeline made her move and went clear of Dymphna who doggedly fought back as she wasn’t going to surrender her title too easily as Dymphna was going for 4 in a row, a feat never achieved in this Championship. The only other athlete to achieve a three in a row was Madeline. However the relentless pace set by Madeline began to tell and going out on the final lap she had regained the lead, a lead she maintained all the way to the line to win the title in 23 mins 12 secs. Dymphna won silver in 23 mins 37 secs with Carmel Fitzgibbon of Thurles Crokes takinig bronze. Fourth was 4th Angela McCann (Clonmel), 5th Niamh Hennessy (Templemore), 6th Maire Fitzgibbon (Thurles Crokes), 7th Aine Roche (Clonmel), 8th Catherine Kelly (Dundrum), 9th Kealey Tideswell (Clonmel) and 10th Martina Ryan (Thurles Crokes). Thurles won the team event from Clonmel and Dundrum. Clonmel won the ‘B’ section from Moyne

In the County Senior Men’s 10k, defending champion, Kevin Maunsell of Clonmel set the pace with his brother, William on his shoulder and they soon opened a lead on the rest of the field. Kevin came home in 33 mins 7 secs, and now joins a group of five elite athletes who have won the County Senior title on more than one occasion. William Maunsell won Silver in 33 mins 37 secs with Mark Gleeson of Nenagh Olympic winning Bronze in 34 mins 5 secs. Fourth was Stuart Moloney (Moore Abbey Milers), 5th Kevin Moore Dundrum, 6th Gary Scully Nenagh Olympic, 7th Tom Blackburn (Moore Abbey Milers), 8th Mike Cunningham (Moore Abbey Milers), 9th Denis Shanahan (Thurles Crokes) and 10th Shane Scully (Nenagh Olympic).

Clonmel retained the team Cup with Kevin, William, Paudie O’Keeffe 11th and Derek Nolan 21st. Silver was won by the Nenagh team of Mark, Gary, Shane and Eoin Woolley 28th. Bronze was won by the Dundrum team of Kevin 5th, Martin Keane 13th, Pat Ryan 16th and John Shanahan 18th. 4th Moore Abbey Milers and 5th Coolquill. In the B Section, Dundrum won Gold with William O’Dwyer, James Ryan and Ruaidhri Devitt. The Clonmel team of Declan Curley, James O’Brien and Brian Carroll won Silver while the Coolquill team of Jack Alexander, Tadgh Vaughan and Andrew Galloway won Bronze.
