Arravale Rovers become first intermediate side to win Crosco Cup

It was third time lucky for Arravale Rovers when they won the Crosco Cup by defeating Sean Treacy’s by 1-17 to 1-13 in the final played at Dundrum on Sunday evening.

Sean Ryan had the ball in the net for Treacys exactly 13 seconds into the game. They followed up with a point and appeared to be in control.

Gradually Arravale settled into the game and trailed by 0-8 to 1-7 at half-time.

Sean Treacy’s suffered a severe blow two minutes before the interval when Ger Egan got a straight red card.

A few minutes before the end substitute, Daragh Crowe, scored a fine goal for Arravale Rovers, for a 1-17 to 1-13 win.

The Crosco Cup was presented to winning captain, Michael O’Dwyer, by board chairman, Tom English, in the presence of sponsor, Bertie Callanan, Bertie’s Bar, Dundrum.
