Tipperary Co-Op SuperValu Junior B HC
CASHEL KING CORMACS 3-15 GALTEE ROVERS 0-7
A couple of Galtee Rovers goalkeeping errors in the first half facilitated a substantial interval lead by Cashel King Cormacs in their Tipperary Co-Op SuperValu junior B hurling championship game at Golden on Saturday evening and contributed to their easy victory.
The winners got off to a lightning start and were 1-4 up before Galtee Rovers registered their opening score. The Cashel goal came from Robert White, who cashed in on a goalkeeping error.
Two further goals by Ger O’Dwyer in the twenty-fourth and twenty-eighth minutes, plus good free-taking by Jonathan Walsh, contributed to Cashel’s lead of 3-10 to 0-5 at the interval.
The scoring slowed down in the second-half as Galtee put in a more determined performance, but it was to no avail.
Many Cashel players impressed but Kevin O’Sullivan, Niall Fitzgerald, Ger O’Dwyer, Jonathan Walsh and Cathal Minogue deserve mention. Cathal Moloney and Kevin Power impressed for Galtee.
