Tipperary Co-Op SuperValue Junior ‘B’ HC
ARRAVALE ROVERS 1-11 LATTIN/CULLEN GAELS 2-6
Arravale Rovers had the edge over Lattin-Cullen Gaels for most of the hour in the Tipperary Co-Op SuperValu Junior B hurling championship game played at Solohead on Saturday evening, and just about deserved their two points winning margin at the final whistle.
Arravale Rovers started brightly with an early goal from James Kinane, who had an outstanding game, and the Tipperary Town boys had built up a lead of 1-7 to 1-3 by half-time.
Lattin-Cullen Gaels, who were making their first appearance in this grade, came more into the game in the second-half but never had enough to overhaul the Arravale Rovers lead. Lattin/Cullen Gaels did outscore the Rovers during the second period and can take some consolation from that fact.
Arravale Rovers’ centre-back, Roger O’Connor, was most impressive throughout, and can be well pleased with his performance over the hour.
