Three late goals enough for Eire Og/Galtee Rovers

Three goals by the Eire Og/Galtee combo in the last quarter did the business.

The now meet Golden-Kilfeacle in the final who beat Clonoulty in the other semi-final.

The first half fare was dour and hard fought with both sets of backs on top and both sets of forwards simultaneously off key.

The Eire Og/Galtee scores came from Sean Daly and a brace off placed balls from Tom Fox to leave the sides level 0-3 apiece at half-time.

Arravale Rovers had the better of the early period of the second half, running up five unanswered points and led by five with 20 minutes left.

But the Eire Og\Galtee side hit back with points from Tom Fox (free) and David Finane before Darragh McGrath kicked home an equalising goal in the 45th minute.

Arravale regained the lead with a pointed free, only to be hit with a sucker-punch of a goal from Evan Heffernan to put the combo in front.

It was a lead they would never relinquish. Substitute Michael O’Brien sealed the outcome by flicking home a Tom Fox free to the net for the final goal, sending Eire Og\Galtee to a final meeting against Golden\Kilfeacle.
