Tipperary hosted both the U16 A and B All Ireland hurling tournaments at the weekend in the South division.
They also competed in the in the Carrigdhoun/Munster u-15 tournament in Cork while the U14 A and B teams were in action in the Tony Forristal/Sonny Walsh tournament in Waterford.
And there was mixed luck for the county with victory in the u-15 over Cork but defeat in the u-16 and Tony Forristal.
In the u-16 Tipp were based in Cahir and drew their opening game against Galway 1-6 each.
They then beat Antrim 2-17 to 2-5 and beat Laois 1-11 to 0-5.
In the semi-final they beat Cork 0-9 to 1-3.
However the final in Clonmel was a bridge too far with Kilkenny winning by two points, 2-4 to 0-8. Tipp led 0-8 to 0-4 entering the final minute but were hit by two late goals from the Cats.
The U 15 hurlers travelled to Carrigdhoun tournament which is hosted annually by Cork Rebel Og. Tipperary beat Clare in their firdst game, winning by nine points, 3-12 to 1-09. Their second contest was against Limerick and came out on top with three points to spare, 3-11 to 2-11. This win set them up for the final against the host county Cork. This final produced six goals with Tipperary winning comfortably 4-11 to 2-4.
The U14 team went to Waterford and won their first game against Offaly 2-11 to 0-7
However in their next contest against Galway they suffered a one point defeat which brought and end to their involvement.
In the U14B Sonny Walsh tournament, Tipp beat Cork 1-9 to 2-5. Their second opponents were Kerry and after a close contest both sides finished all square on 3-3 each.
With score difference coming into the equation, Tipperary qualified for a semi final against Kilkenny. They played well but lost out narrowly to a strong Cats side 2-3 to 1-5 .
The U 14 Hurling County semi finals are scheduled to take place this Saturday September 7.
The format will be Mid v South and North v West. At time of printing venue and times are unavailable. Also not all divisional finals are completed.
