Mullinahone 1-17 Carrick Swans 2-9

Mullinahone retained their South Tipp Senior Hurling Championship when they beat Carrick Swans by 5 points in Sunday evening’s final in Clonmel.

Mullinahone were in the driving seat from the start and led at half-time by 0-11 to 0-5. The Carrick team upped their performance on the re-start and were boosted by a goal from substitute Keith Walsh in the 46th minute to cut the deficit to 3 points.

However Mullinahone were back in control just over a minute later with a goal from top scorer Eoin Kelly, who scored 1-11 of their 1-17.

Carrick Swans never gave up and were rewarded with a late consolation goal from Stephen Hahessy’s long-range effort.
