Our U 13 camogie team faced Fethard in their second championship game on Tuesday July 9th in Fethard on a very warm evening. Both teams were evenly matched and we had a great game of camogie with a full complement available to both sides.

Fethard opened the scoring with a point. Leah McGarry responded with a well taken goal. This was followed by a pointed free by Emer Ryan.

Great work by our defence of Emma Tobin, Ellen Buckley, Louise Norris, Karen Meehan, Yasmin Quirke, Emma Cronin and Makayala O’Donnell kept the Fethard forwards at bay leaving the half-time score 1-1 to 0-1 in our favour.

Fethard came out after half time and scored a quick goal followed by three points.

Pressure from our midfielders Aine Fitzgerald and Emer Ryan and forward line of Sarah Hickey,Leah Mc Garry, Alannah Dowling, Sophie Delaney, Caitriona Phelan resulted in Sarah O’Connor getting a well deserved goal. This sealed our victory on the the narrowest of margins 2-2 to 1-4.

Ice-cream was a welcome treat thanks to John Ryan. Well done girls!

LADIES FOOTBALL

The Tipperary Intermedite team were very unlucky to be beaten by Waterford in the Munster final last Saturday. The club was well represented on the filed of play ,in reserves and team management.

Well done to all concerned and best of luck now in the qualifiers.

INTERMEDIATE FOOTBALL

In a repeat of the South final at this grade we played Ballyporeen in Cahir on Friday night last in a championship game. While Ballyporeen once again emerged as winners this time the scoreline was far more convincing from their point of view, 5-9 to 0-8.

We will be hoping for a big improvement this Friday night in Newcastle when we take on Ballylooby/Castlegrace. Throw-in at 8 o’clock.

MINOR FOOTBALL

The South minor football championship semi-final v Cahir which was supposed to go ahead last week never materialised for a combination of reasons. At time of going to press no rescheduled date has been announced.
