It was all football action on Saturday last July 13th as our county panels in all grades were on the call of duty in the Munster football tournaments..

In the U 14 grade we had two teams participating in the Jim Power tournament which is hosted annually by Bórd na Nog Portláirge.

Our A panel played their opening game in Bushy Park (Brickey Rangers G.A.A. Ground) at 11am. Their opponents were from Kerry. Result: Kerry South 4-7 Tipperary 2-10.

Our next game was against The Banner County in which we enjoyed superiority .Result: Tipp 7-8 Clare 1-07

The B side commenced their day playing Cork A in Dungarvan but were totally overpowered failing to register a contribution on the score board, while conceding 4-12.

Next opposition was against Waterford who again proved too strong and thereby bringing our B panel’s participation to an end.

Resulting from their high scoring in their second game our A panel qualified for a semi final with Cork A. Result: Tipp A 3-3 Cork A 0-7.

Their opponents in the final was the other Rebel representatives Cork B. This time Tipp were really outclassed and had no answer as Cork secured the title on a 5-5 to 1-1 concluding score line.

U 15 Humphrey Kelleher Tournament.

Our first outing was against North Kerry which we won by 1-9 to 2-5. In the semi final against East Cork we went down on a 0-14 to 0-13. It was truly a heart breaking manner to exit the tournament but full credit to both team and mentors for two cracking games of football played under very hot conditions. We relinquished our crown but nothing else.
