Emly 1-13

Emly 1-13

Clonoulty Rossmore 0-13

Emly moved to the top of the group, and nearer to a place in the final, in the Gleeson Concrete junior A hurling championship when they overcame Clonoulty Rossmore in Dundrum on Saturday evening last. This was a very keenly and evenly contested encounter, with Emly just about deserving victory by virtue of their ability to take scores at vital times.

The game was close from the start with Emly just shading it in the first half to lead by 1-6 to 0-8 at the break, the goal coming from Bob McEniry.

Emly expanded their lead after the interval with three points but didn’t score for some time after that as Clonoulty replied with a number of points. It was touch and go during the last ten minutes during which Adrian Dawson added a couple of important scores for Emly and they emerged winners by 1-13 to 0-13.
