Cashel King Cormacs were defeated by Moneygall in a senior hurling championship relegation play-off semi-final on Sunday evening.
In a tie played at The Ragg, Cashel lost out on a 1-14 to 0-10, having trailed 1-8 to 0-6 at the break. Cashel only managed four points from play in the whole game. They will have to sort this problem out for the next day if they are to retain their senior status.
In the other relegation play-off semi-final played in New Inn also on Sunday evening, Golden/Kilfeacle and Boherlahan/Dualla played out a draw, 1-15 to 2-12.
The West Division side, who were never led over the hour, conceded a goal very late on, which was enough to secure parity for the Mid side. Darragh Hickey picked up a pass from full-forward Laurence Hickey and blasted to the net.
The games other goals came from Thomas Burns (Golden) and Brian Maher (Boherlahan).
Whoever loses the replay between Golden/Kilfeacle and Boherlahan/Dualla will face their neighbours from Cashel in a do-or-die game to determine who stays senior and who drops back to intermediate grade for 2014.
Anxious weeks ahead for all three sides.
