Clonmel Town 6 – 1 Two Mile Borris

Clonmel Town U17’s strolled into the 1st round proper of the FAI Cup with a fine 6-1 over Two Mile Borris. Town took an early lead through Luke Hahessy before Ciaran Looney doubled Town’s lead in the 11th minute. Town seemed to take their foot off the pedal and gave away a sloppy goal just before half-time to give Borris a lifeline as the teams went in 2-1 at the break. Town came fast out of the blocks in the second half and resumed control of the game with Luke Hahessy scoring a brace to complete his hat trick and Sean Browne chipping into with two glorious strikes.

Longford Town 5 – 1 Moyglass United

Moyglass took on Longford Town and came away defeated after a tense and sometimes even nasty affair. Despite attempts to play good football, the Tipperary boys were on the back foot early on when the home team took the lead after a quarter of an hour. Unperturbed, Moyglass hit back after 25 minutes and were well in the game heading to half-time. Alas, disaster struck and two goals in the final two minutes of the half knocked the wind from the sails of the away team. The half time break didn’t offer much solace to them either, as when the second half restarted, Longford took up where they left off and they hit two more goals within five minutes around the hour mark, to round off the victory.

Cahir Park were given a walkover by Birr Town.
