After Tipp’s comfortable victory over Limerick manager Eamon O’Shea elected not to speak to the media afterwards and in his stead, selector Michael Ryan summed up Tipp’s afternoon.
Tipp never had to hit the high notes last Sunday in what selector Michael Ryan described as a useful workout for both sides.
He said: “It was a workout in late January. You don’t have high expectations of what you’re going to see here. It was just a workout for the two teams. It was about the effort you got from the boys. You’re not going to get high quality and we didn’t but we’re very happy with where we’re at. The boys worked hard. 22 scores is ok but I wouldn’t read anything into what we saw here. The matches are coming thick and heavy for us – that’s our fourth.
“As far as we’re concerned we’re happy with where we’re at and it’s going in the right direction.”
