Clerihan 6 – 1 Clonmel Celtic
The home side took all three points in Clerihan on Sunday against a very game but very young Celtic reserve outfit.
The scoring was opened in the sixth minute by Craig Condon before the game turned into the Tommy Hill show. A hat trick from Hill interspersed with a goal back by Celtic’s Simon Aherne put Clerihan firmly in the driving seat and a second by Condon along with a goal from Shane Foley gave the home team their biggest win of the season and took them off the bottom of the table.
Donohill and District 3 – 0 Ballyneale
Donohill moved to the top of the Third Division with an emphatic win over fellow high fliers Ballyneale. Two goals in the first ten minutes through a penalty by Joe Shanahan and a Dinny Crosse header gave the home team the platform on which to carve out these three points. A third goal midway through the second half when Dinny Crosse got his second to cap a man of the match performance.
Munster Youths Cup, 2nd Round
Cahir Park 7 – 1 Cashel Town
On 22 minutes Cashel Town opened the scoring with a very well worked goal. Barry Cooney on 34 minutes had Cahir Park’s equaliser and in the 42nd minute William Dunne put Cashel in front.
After the break two further Cahir Park goals effectively decided the tie, the first from Andy O’Connor after 54 minutes, and four minutes later a brave William Dunne stooped to header.
A fine solo goal from Conor Lonergan after 69 nine, a penalty by William Dunne to claim his hat-trick after 78 minutes and a final goal by Shane Flannery after 82 minutes saw Cahir Park easily through.
