Junior B hurling title pinnacle of Rosegreen GAA year

Lisa O’Grady, Club Secretary, gave an in-depth account of the Club’s activities for 2012. She highlighted the winning of the West Junior B Hurling title as being the pinnacle of success for the season. The win bridged a gap of eight years since the Village last secured this title.

Jack Bourke, Club Treasurer gave a detailed financial account which showed that the Club just about kept its head above the water for the 2012 season. Jack outlined that for this year, the Club will need to raise more funding to ensure a stable financial footing. He expressed a wish that more members of the community would become members of the club and that the club should actively seek more members for the Tipperary GAA Draw. Membership fees for the Club have been set at E30 for non playing members.

David Hayde, Club Chairman, thanked everyone who in any way helped out with the running of the GAA Club in 2012. He said that winning the Junior B Hurling title lifted the spirits of everyone in the Club and expressly thanked all the players, mentors and coach. As David was not seeking re-election to the position of Chairman, he thanked his fellow officers and committee members for their tireless work over the last number of years. He also commented on the huge amount of work being done at Juvenile level and hoped that all the effort being put into the Juvenile structures would reap the benefits on the playing fields in the years ahead.

David wished the incoming Chairman, Pat Cummins, very best wishes for the years ahead and said that the role of club chairman is a huge honour.

Medal Presentation

Rosegreen GAA Juvenile Club held a medal presentation night to honour the five successful teams that collected honours during the 2012 season. The U12 teams collected three football titles and the U14 teams collected one football and two hurling titles. Dylan Fitzell and T.J. Ryan presented the medals asked the kids to ensure that they train and play twice as hard for the coming

The Juvenile AGM will take place this Saturday, January 19, at 8pm in the Community Hall.
