Cashel’s U12s were in action at the weekend kicking off their football season with a trip to Bansha to take on Galtee Rovers. First into action was the second U12 team and a fantastic start saw Cashel three goals in front courtesy of two from Ben White and one from Donal Ryan. A further Ben White point handed Cashel a deserved halftime lead, 3-1 to 1-03. But Galtee replied with two quick points as they came back at our boys in determinedly. Cashel withstood the onslaught and Donal Ryan coolly kicked a point late in the game to seal an excellent opening round victory for Cashel’s “B” Team, on a score line of 3-2 to 1-05.
Cashel: Ross Minogue, Alex Dunne Patrick Quinlan, Cathal Quinn, Herman O’Donoghue, Calum Ryan, Ben White, Donal Ryan, David O’Dwyer.
The “A” team were soon into action and came up against a very strong home team. The boys tried hard to match their opposition but came up short, and were well beaten in the finish. To be fair Cashel were without some players and to their credit never gave up and if the lads continue to show that same appetite they will surely improve. Tommy Fitzgerald scored one goal and a point while Aaron Moloney scored a point.

Johnny “Boy” Moloney Hurling School of Excellence
Our annual School of Excellence this year will take place on April 3, 4, and 5, running from 10am to 1pm each day.
The event since it’s inception has been called after a former club friend and member who has sadly gone to their eternal rest and this year Johnny “Boy’ Moloney and the Moloney family will be honoured, in recognition of his dedication, commitment and fantastic contribution to the Cashel King and Cormacs and GAA, a fitting tribute.
We hope that all juvenile members will take part and our friends in the camogie club also. The fee is set at €20 per child with concessions for two or more children and we encourage all current members and new members to participate. The children will receive excellent coaching over the three days, refreshments, treats, fun and excitement and on the final day each participant will receive a Gaelic football and a sliother for their efforts.
It promises to an event not to be missed so don’t miss out! You can register by contacting Juvenile Chairman Joe McGrath, co/ordinator Eileen Moloney or any member of the juvenile committee.
