William Maunsell and Carmel Fitzgibbon win County Intermediate Cross-Country

At the County Intermediate Ladies 5k and Men’s 8k in Powerstown Race course, the Ladies race saw Carmel Fitzgibbon of Thurles Crokes go off as favourite and win well in 21 mins 4 secs.

Niamh Hennessy moved into 2nd place on the final lap and she kept that position all the way to the line to win the silver medal in 21 mins 40 secs.

Aine Roche of Clonmel won Bronze in 22 mins.

In the Men’s 8k race William Maunsell of Clonmel led from the start to win in 29 mins 6 secs.

Danny Smith of Ballynonty also running very well to win the Silver medal in 29 mins 47 secs with Mike Cunningham of Moore Abbey Milers making his Cross Country debut for his Club a worthy one when winning the Bronze medal in 30 mins 17 secs.
