Tipp’s Paddy Stapleton ruled out of final but Padraic Maher should be fit

A broken hand has ruled Paddy Stapleton out of Tipperary's National Hurling League Final against Kilkenny on Sunday.

Tipperary defender Paddy Stapleton has been ruled out of Sunday’s National Hurling League Final against Kilkenny in Nowlan Park (3.30).

The corner back broke a hand while on duty for Borris-Ileigh against Templederry Kenyons in the North Senior Hurling Championship on Sunday evening.

There was also a scare concerning star defender Padraic Maher, who suffered an arm injury during Thurles Sarsfields’ Mid Senior Hurling Championship clash with JK Brackens on Saturday evening.

However his prospects of playing on Sunday have since improved.
