Swan Club mourns passing of loyal supporter

Carrick Swan GAA Club extends its deepest sympathy to the family of Johnny Sullivan, who died last week.

Johnny was a great supporter of the Swan Club and was always present in The Davin Park and on The Green for training sessions and matches alike.

He will be sadly missed this year but Club members are sure he will be with them in spirit.

The Club extends sympathy to his wife, sons, daughters, grandchildren and extended family. May he rest in peace.

Numbers drawn in last week’s Juvenile Lotto were 5, 10, 22 and 25.

There wasn’t a winner of the jackpot prize and three players matched three numbers to win €70 each. They were: Deborah Nolan, Castle Heights; Florence Phelan, Ballinurra and Johnny Hennessy, Castle Park.

This week’s jackpot prize is €3,250.

Cards for the annual Aintree Grand National Sweep have been distributed to business premises in Carrick-on-Suir and surrounding areas. Members are encouraged to promote and support this very important fundraiser where they can.

Selection committees and team mentors are currently being finalised for all juvenile hurling, football and camogie teams.

The Club appeals to those with some spare time and an interest in Gaelic games to help out.

Anyone interested in volunteering should contact any committee member or team mentor.

A Juvenile disco for 8 to 13 year olds will take place on Friday night next from 8pm to 10.30pm.

All are invited to attend this strictly supervised event with spot prizes on door tickets. Admission €5.

Membership fees should be paid to club registrar Willie Hahessy, or any committee member, as soon as possible.

Players are reminded that insurance cover is only in place on payment of membership.

The fee for adults is €20, minors €10 and juveniles €5
