Ardfinnan Tidy Towns would like to thank everyone that came out to give a hand around the village as part of our first clean up week.
We would like everyone to keep up the great work in maintaining their own areas and we are available to assist anyone who need our help or might have some new ideas for their area.
hile almost all of us take great pride in our village and do our bit to help out sadly there is one or two who dump their rubbish along our roadsides. This has been going on around the lay-by on the Clogheen road for quite sometime where someone is dumping a lot of rubbish over the walls.
It has been reported and is been watched but we ask anyone that see this going on to report it in confidence to tidy towns or your local council or at the local garda station.
Our hanging baskets are started and will be soon ready to go up again.

Ardfinnan were defeated by Kilsheelan in the third round of the South on Sunday night. Kilsheelan had an excellent start and had 2 goals on the board in the first minute. Ardfinnan then got on top with Sean Maher dominating the midfield exchanges. We kicked 6 points without reply in the first half to go in level at half time. The Ardfinnan scores came from Aidan Savage, Johnny English (2), Brian Lonergan (2) and Billy Hewit. Ardfinnan started the stronger in the second half and 3 points in a row left us leading by 3 points with 15 minutes remaining. Kilsheelan then responded by putting the next 5 points on the board and despite a late Billy Hewit free we were beaten 2.5 to 10 points in the end. This leaves us in a difficult position in the group and we play Commercials in Cahir on Friday at 5pm and Moyle rovers in Ned Hall park on Monday next also at 5pm.
The preparations for the upcoming championship continued this weekend with a good challenge game against Rathgormac in Ardfinnan on Sunday morning. We won 1.10 to 8 points in the end of a very good game.
The minors had an excellent victory over St Pats on Saturday night last in Clonmel. Trailing by 13 points at one stage we ran out 4.12 to 2.9 winners in the end. This leaves us with two wins from two in the group and gives us a great chance of qualification. We play Commercials in Newcastle on Saturday at 3pm.
The Lotto numbers for Monday, April 11, were 2, 13, 18 and 19. Four people matched 3 numbers each win E38. Next week’s jackpot is E7300.
