Thanks to the Parents Council who organised a cake sale in the school last week. €340 was raised. Thanks to everyone who donated and supported the sale.

A junior and senior team from the school took part in a soccer blitz in Littleton on Monday. The senior team qualified for the finals on Tuesday but unfortunately did not bring back any silverware. Thanks to Patsy McGrath who helped out with both teams in Littleton. The senior team was made up of Ben Hyland, Davet Jeffries, Jack Murphy, David Hyland, Nathan O’Brien, Dylan Murphy and Dion Morrissey. The junior team consisted of Eoghan Heffernan Third and fourth class took part in an inter schools hurling blitz in Clerihan on Thursday, Patrick Griffin, James Condon, David Murphy, Conor Walsh, Liam Moore and Dylan Flynn.

Even though the team did not win on the day, great fun was had by all.Thanks to Liam Fleming for managing the children. The panel was Cormac Flynn, Jane Hyland, Conor Walsh, David Murphy, Dylan Flynn, Dennis McCraith, Kyle Morrissey, Liam Moore and Shane O’Gorman.

Well done to Ben Hyland who has qualified for the final trial of the Cumann na mBunscoil primary games competition.


At the A.G.M. held on Wednesday, April 6, the following officers were elected - President: Caroline Cleary, Secretary: Maudie O’Donoghue and Treasurer: Janice Beasley. Congratulations to Janice who was recently elected Federation Sports & Leisure Officer and to Mary O’Gorman who was elected Federation Contests Secretary.

The members would like to thank most sincerely everyone in the area who contributed and supported them during their recent Day of Fast in aid of Bothar. The total amount collected was €1,167 and all this money will go towards a fund to establish a creamery in Rwanda, Africa. Guild Members are looking forward to hosting the Summer Federation Meeting in Ballyporeen Hall on Wednesday, June 29.


Sincere sympathy is extended to the Conran family on the death of Carrie Conran which occurred recently. Removal took place from her home to Cahir Church on Sunday and following requiem mass she was laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery. May she rest in peace.

Congratulations to the Junior team from Colaiste Dun Iascaigh who won the All Ireland Junior B final in Banagher last Saturday. Well done to all involved, Denny and Shane, and our Brian Boru representitives of Claire Walsh, Maureen Murphy, Marie-Claire Murphy, Laura Keating, Caoimhe Condon, Rebecca English, Jackie Doyle, Aoife Murray and Megan Heffernan.

The Brian Boru Senior team got off to a winning start to their league campaign with a victory over old rivals Cappawhite. Brian Borus led from the start and finished off with a score of 3-14 to 1-6. The team lined out as follows; Jackie O’Gorman, Nicki Gilmore, Carmel Condon, Aisling Condon, Deborah Kenneally, Orla Fleming, Cliona O’Dwyer, Michelle Slattery, Jennifer Grant, Laura Keating, Trisha Hickey, Marie-Claire Murphy, Karen Barry, Mairead Morrissey and Nora Noonan. Subs used; Maureen Murphy and Michaela Maher.

The under 16s are playing in the pitch in Clogheen on Wednesday evening against Clonmel Commercials and the Under 14s are playing Fethard there on Friday evening. Please come along and support!


Under 8. Fr. Sheehy’s u8 footballers took part in a blitz for clubs in the South and West divisions at Rockwell College last Saturday, playing matches against Lattin/Cullen, Ballyporeen and St. Patrick’s. Panel; Ronan O’Brien, Evin Hyland, David Murphy, Joseph O’Brien, Conor Flynn, Alex Spens, Cathal English, Nathan and Kian Coffey, Liam Carroll, Dylan Keating, Ronan Hyland. Training for u8 continues every Saturday at 11am. Next blitz is on Saturday, April 30, in Clonmel Og.

Under 12. Fr. Sheehy’s u12 footballers took on neighbours Ballylooby in Clogheen last Friday evening in round 3 of the Premier Games. After an excellent game of football Ballylooby finished the the stronger scoring 1-3 without reply in the last ten minutes to win by four points, 3-7 to 2-6. Fr. Sheehy’s travel to Moyle Rovers on this Friday 22nd of April. Panel; Shane Connolly, Eoin Watson, Dylan O’ Brien, Dylan Flynn, Conor Walsh, David Hyland (0-1), Aaron Enright, Jane Hyland, Richard Maher (0-2), Robert Maher (0-1), Dion Morrissey (1-2), Shane O’ Gorman (1-0), David Murphy, Patrick Griffin.

Under 14. The combination u14 football team, Ballylooby/Fr. Sheehy’s were beaten by Ardfinnan on Monday of last week by 5-5 to 1-1. The next game is away to Ballyporeen on Monday, April 25.

Under 16. Fr. Sheehy’s u16 football away to Rosegreen on this Thursday, April 21, at 6.30pm.
