HSE Community Dietician Mairead O’Sullivan will run a free course on diabetes management at Carrick-on-Suir’s Nano Nagle Resource Centre starting on Friday, May 6.
The six week Xpert programme is for any person with Type 2 diabetes .
During the 2½ hour sessions, all aspects of diabetes management are discussed and participants have the opportunity to explore and address any concerns they have with their diabetes.
A different topic such as interpreting blood results, healthy eating, carbohydrate, medications and prevention of complications is covered each week.
A friend or family member is welcome to attend too.

Shave or Dye event
The Shave or Dye event at Maggie’s Bar and Sylvia’s Hair Salon in Carrickbeg on Sunday, February 20 has to date raise a staggering €17,206 in aid of the Irish Cancer Society.
The organisers last week thanked all who supported and were involved in the event in which 60 volunteers had their heads either shaved or dyed to raise money for the cause.
There is a special Progressive 25 Card Game in Rathgormack Community & Hiking Centre on Good Friday, April 22 at 8.45pm.
The usual monthly card game will take place on Thursday, April 28 at 8.45pm.
Winners of the March game were Jim Skehan and John Power.
The Carrick-on-Suir Alcoholics Anonymous Family Group is hosting a public meeting at the Nano Nagle Community Resource Centre on Wednesdy, May 4 at 8pm.
The meeting is free of charge. All are welcome.
