Edel will be promoting Tipp Ruby Card

Following the recent launch of the Tipperary Card TIRD / Chamber of Commerce have agreed with the Ruby Card, to begin a new initiative to “spread the gospel” to a wider audience. To this end we are assigning our own new recruit Edel O’Gorman, a marketing graduate to this new project. You will likely be seeing Edel about the Town promoting this excellent product. A banner proclaiming the benefits of the Tipperary Credit card will also be erected across the main street very soon.

Staff: It is with much regret that shortly we will be saying good-bye to our excellent secretary Anne O’Brien who has been a huge addition to the Chamber of Commerce during the years she has been with us. Anne has been secretary to 3 Chamber presidents, Larry Creamer, Brian English and our current president Tim Ryan and all in TIRD/Chamber of Commerce will miss her greatly. As her term under the Community Employment Scheme is coming to an end we would like to thank recently retired FAS Area leader, Liam O’Brien for all his help down through the years. Thankfully while we are losing Anne we are delighted to say that FAS have agreed to a replacement. Denise Ryan had just begun work as our new secretary and we are very fortunate that Anne will be with us for a few more weeks to work with Denise in her new position. We wish both of them continued success.

Victorian Lighting: Chamber officers are very excited that a project initiated by them and supported by Tipperary Town Council is about to happen very shortly and will hugely transform and benefit Tipperary Town’s Main Street. New Victorian style lamps are soon to be erected on the Main Street and will also include flower baskets, which hopefully with the assistance of Tipperary Tidy Towns, transform the aesthetic appearance of the thoroughfare. This is a major achievement for the Chamber of Commerce and will cost approximately 100,000 euro. This funding was sourced by the TIRD/Chamber of Commerce and great credit is due to all concerned and also our thanks to Tipperary Town Council and in particular Aidan Finn.

Railway Network: Tipperary to Waterford Line

We are currently monitoring the situation in regards to the future of this rail connection in association with Pat Holland from the South Tipperary County Council.

We will be doing everything possible to see that Iarnoid Eireann maintains the route in the future.
