U12A GIRLS COUNTY FINAL
On Tuesday, June 21, our girls took on a strong and confident Moyle Rovers side in Bansha in wet and windy conditions. The girls were very nervous and by half time our opponents were in a commanding lead. But an inspiring half time speech by our coaches got the girls going and they came out and won the second half with a point from Orla Landers , a goal from Emer Quirke and 1-1 from Lara O’Dwyer. Unfortunately this was not enough as Moyle Rovers scores in the first half were too much to overcome. But if without the excellence of Laoise Looby and Maria Nash in the full back line, we would have lost by a lot more. Thanks to our coaches Danny, Joe, Margarite and Cathy who trained the girls since early January. It was wonderful to have such support on the night, thanks to all for coming and supporting the girls. The team was as follows: Aisling Ryan, Aoife Ryan, Maria Nash, Laoise Looby, Caitlyn Buckley, Megan O’Neill, Grainne Cole, Emer Quirke, Lara O’Dwyer, Kayleigh O’Farrell, Orla Landers, Aoife O’Halloran, Jenny Quirke, Angela Heffernan and Katie Cunningham. Subs Bernie Leahy, Clodagh Cunningham, Aoife O’Dwyer, Becky Ryan and Jade Crowe.
Thanks to this group of girls for providing us with excellent football all year.
