A musical extravaganza was held in Ss Peter and Paul’s school recently, featuring choirs and music groups from around the county and beyond.

Groups involved included Our Lady of Mercy Girls’ School, Cahir; Ardfinnan N.S. and Cork’s North Mon (last year’s hosts of the event), as well as the Ss Peter and Paul’s Choir and Ss Peter and Paul’s Band.

A feast of music was enjoyed by all, with over 180 children performing at the event. Highlights included Ardfinnan’s rendition of “The Dublin Saunter”, which they had previously sung at the National Children’s Choir event in Thurles; Cahir’s version of “May the Road Rise to Meet You”, and the all-singing, all-dancing “Abba Forever” from the Ss Peter and Paul’s choir.

The concert concluded with the Ss Peter and Paul’s C.B.S. band playing “Superheroes ‘r Us” and some lively audience participation for the Black-Eyed Peas “I’ve Gotta Feeling”.

A great performance was enjoyed by all and the performers are eagerly awaiting next years’ event.
