Clogheen Drama Group;
Last weekend the group played to packed houses with the very popular 60s play Big Maggie written by John B Keane. The group were delighted to donate the proceeds of their final night to the Elizabeth and David Fund, in aid of two local children who are under going treatment for Leukaemia. If the reaction of the audience is anything to go by then the group can be certain that their efforts to prepare the play were well worthwhile and the writings of John B are even more relevant today than ever before. Thank you to all who helped with props and sponsorship and a special thanks to all who came to see the play.
The Cahill family would like to extend their warmest thanks and appreciation to all who have supported us in so many ways over the past two months; masses, good wishes, kind words exchanged and your sincere generosity in the most recent fundraiser.
David is looking forward to seeing you all and being out and about again soon.
William Devereux R.I.P.
There was widespread shock and sadness with the news that William Devereux, Lower Main St, Clogheen had passed away in his sleep. William was predeceased by his parents Willie and Mai formerly of the Vee Hotel. Willie as he was affectionately known was a quiet, gentle person who was always available to give a hand wherever needed. Following removal from St Theresas Hospital to Clogheen church on Saturday last and requiem mass on Sunday he was laid to rest in Shanrahan Cemetery. Willie is survived by his sisters Marian, Shelia, Breda, Agnes and Claire, brothers in law, nephews and nieces and all his extended family. May he rest in peace.
